i missed too many discourse cycles and now you have to take them all at once, no chasing. no thoughtful lead-in or anything it's time to fuck around [hbomberguy off-key cacophanous kazoo music starts playin;g[
i tried duskbloods during the network test and it was so incredibly confusing. i felt like i was being inducted into an MLM. fromsoft NEEDS to STOP throwing nouns at me there was literally like, 5PNS/m i almost screamed.1 2 i jumped around like hulk gif and it was ,awesome
the ocarina of time remake is like, fine. i do understand why people were put off, i go back and forth. i wish there were bigger liberties taken with the gameplay (though i hear there might be some extra stuff?). i do think there's a little too much whinging for a series that is quite literally the only major gaming franchise to not have a consistent artstyle. let them try weird shit, i dunno! i'm open to it. um. [holds my paw up to my ear, seeming confounded] can you repeat that. the follicle count on link and zelda's eyelashes is w
Read This If You Want To Get Mad At Me: tricking you into reading another zelda opinion: i wish, more than anything, they had not cast matt mercer as ganondorf again. it's not even necessarily because of how i feel about his acting3; no, it's because the absolute last thing i want for zelda (series) is for there to be a Ganondorf Guy or an Anyone Guy. to my understanding zelda (zelda) is not the same actress as BOTW/TOTK? either commit or get an all-new cast each time. imo.
i don't play fire emblem,4 but my girlfriend is a fan and i've been watching her play fortune's weave. Babe Don't Read This You'll Get Mad At Me: i am sick of games doing the persona close-up dialogue portrait thing and not even getting it right. persona portraits are both practical tools and uniquely styled artworks - they're borne from the fact that you can't see shit on their little modeled faces in-game, so the portraits immerse you by allowing the characters to have detailed facial expressions complete with lip-syncing; especially in later iterations, they're drawn extravagantly to contribute a unique artistic flair which further draws your eye. all of this together means you understand immediately that during a given cutscene, the positions and poses of the models are like an establishing shot, and then the portraits are what you focus on to watch them talk as if it's a close-up. here's what fire emblem does: first, i can't tell if they're unique drawings? they don't have the same texturing as the in-scene models, but they look fairly identical to them so i'm tempted to say they literally just re-posed the 3D models for the portraits. either way, they don't stand out from the rest of the game. second: the way the portraits move... they just kindof wiggle and rotate. they're so unnaturally bouncy. third: their lips don't move. the in-scene models' lips are the ones that are moving. what!! why even have the portraits!!
i'm turbo late to this one but i look away for like a few months and everyone hates clair obscur now i guess. not really but there's definitely a concerted backlash that's been building for some reason, and as a certified early skeptic of clair obscur i have to say, no one i see talk smack about this game is a) normal or b) even critical of it for a good reason. don't like the parry mechanic because they think it ruins the turn-based? the parrying is... like... the best part of the gameplay. and this complaint is over 20 years late, where is the smoke for paper mario. don't like that it won a bunch of awards? not even really a criticism of the game. i dunno it's just weird that now whenever clair obscur gets mentioned, there is literally no middle ground between "it's a masterpiece" and "it's dogshit". even more than most other things i see people have it out over. it is a good game! it also has flaws that i want to analyze and talk about! i am being forced to fight for my enemy (not really, being dramatic) because people just want to do culture wars forever
RIP destiny 2. welcome back destiny 2

proper nouns/minute.↩
NOT PENIS PER MINUTE!!!↩
mostly fine - he sounds like he's trying too hard to make his voice sound Like That. though of course everyone in the breath of the tears zeldas sounds that way, so it doesn't stick out as much to me. i understand he's an incredible voice actor though - case in point, i somehow had no idea he was yusuke in P5!↩
ok except sacred stones, which i played many years ago when nintendo slashed the price of the 3DS and literally gave a bunch of old games to early adopters for free as an apology. god nintendo needs to be scared of us again. it was good! i liked it↩
